Rahm Emanuel is making headlines again. A new Chief of Staff will be needed, as Rahm is leaving his post. Rahm wants a position involving real power, and is running for Mayor of Chicago. Present Mayor Richard Daley is retiring at the conclusion of this term. Rahm has been known to covet the job. Therefore, once the opportunity came up, people were talking about this.


Rahm gathered and was gone


Many have seen and heard the rumors about Rahm Emanuel leaving his position. He was expected to become part of the Chicago mayor election. Nobody has heard if he is running for sure yet. It nevertheless is not official. There were reports from D.C. saying otherwise. This would indicate he is running officially. The White House should be giving an official announcement fairly shortly on this, states the Washington Post. The issue is something Obama is going to have to discuss. He can be doing a later press conference for this reason. There has been an announcement that there can be a press conference at the White House within the near future because of personnel changes, and this originated from White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.


This can be a Daley move to make


Chicago Mayor Richard Daley decided earlier this year not to seek reelection next year. He doesn’t want to serve anymore after this term. He just wants to live retired live. The New York Times reported on Daley. It said that Daley really wants to move on to other things in his life. The Chicago dynasty could be ending with his retirement. He has a father with his same name of Richard Daley who was a Democratic mayor of Chicago for quite a while. Daley’s father was in his post until he died meaning he served from 1995 to 1976. The younger Mayor Daley was elected in 1989, and has been the mayor ever since. The mayor of Chicago has been in the Daley family for a long time. In fact, it has been for 44 of the last 55 years.


Rahm recognized to want the job


Rahm Emanuel is known to have wanted the job for a while. The city has been really democrat for a long time. That means Emanuel may just be the person the city needs.
